We’re excited that you’re interested in taking a Dual Credit class(es) next school year! Below is some info to help you decide if it’s right for you.

Process for Dual Credit Students

Parents and students may research the potential Dual Credit course offerings and determine your classes of interest - bit.ly/dualcreditcourses
Watch the Dual Credit recording to learn more about the program - bit.ly/KISD_DualCreditWebinar
Meet with a counselor during Course Selection to discuss Dual Credit and if it is an appropriate choice.
- All Dual Credit courses must be approved by the counselor and entered into SchooLinks by 3/18 for the student to enroll in any DC class. (REQUIRED)
During the Counselor Meeting, all new and returning DC students need to complete the interest form as a first step - bit.ly/2025DC1
- Communication of application Help Sessions, deadlines, and other important information will be sent to students on this list.

Returning DC Students (in Dual Credit classes this year): No further action to needed

New DC Students ONLY:

Complete the Application Process

Apply to Houston Community College via the Apply Texas Application using Step by Step Instructions
- Students must use a personal email address (iCloud email addresses are blocked)
Receive your HCC student ID via email 2-3 days after submitting the Apply Texas application
Parents & students are required to review and sign the Dual Credit Acknowledgement form – due in counseling office by 3/18

Complete the Dual Credit Registration process with Katy ISD

Go to the Final Registration form (must have HCC ID already)
Use this form to complete the 2 PDFs online (Waiver & Residency)

Upload the signed PDFs in the same Google form (no photos)
Submit the form

Submit Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Records (if attending class at HCC)

If you plan to take an in-person, on-campus course at HCCs campus, you must submit proof of the Bacterial Meningitis vaccination.
The vaccine must:
- Be administered at least 10 days before the start of classes.
- Have been given within the last 5 years.

3/18 Signed Dual Credit Acknowledgment Form Due in Counseling Office by 3 pm

3/18 Course Selection Deadline (final day to edit course requests)
